I love shooting weddings, that’s the truth. But I have to admit that every now and then I get to work with someone whom I know- and that is really, really special. That happened for me with Katelyn and Chris. I’ve known Katelyn since she was about 10 when she and her family lived 2 doors down from me. So being asked to photograph her wedding left me shocked that she was even old enough to get married (she is!) and honored that she and her mom would want to work with me.
September 20th was lovely and warm, a gorgeous day for a wedding. The wedding and reception were both at Katelyn’s family home. Her mom Marianne had things decorated to the “9s” and with her creativity, all was perfect. My favorite things? First, the DRESS- what a fabulous dress it was!! It looked tailor-made for Katelyn. Second, the flowers: Fleurish made arrangements that showcased the bride’s colors with artful flare and panache that made each table a story in itself. I loved the shabby chic doors that guests entered through, thus setting the stage for Katelyn and Chris’ story to unfold. Check out the initial for the bride and groom on each door.
The ceremony took place among a grove of trees riverside. So romantic and heartfelt. As the night progressed, guests surely enjoyed the sweet rhythms of The XPDs, a fact underscored by the dozens of people on the dance floor!
After returning from a honeymoon in Paris, I hope they love reliving their special day through my eyes. Congratulations Katelyn and Chris!!
