I loved working with Kate and Nick! From our first meeting, I felt a deep connection to them and Kate’s vision for her wedding. Their choice of The Oaks in Royal Oak, MD gave them the waterfront setting that they wanted and Mother Nature gave them the gift of a perfect day. Kate had some wonderful suggestions for her photography which we happily incorporated into our plans. She suggested the shot of the bridesmaids from the back and I chose the background of the old red barn on The Oaks property. I love that shot and thank her for thinking it would be fun. Shirley Windsor of Seasonal Flowers had Kate in tears with the beautiful hydrangea bouquets and vintage ball jar centerpieces. Candy Backus of Silent Sous created a very yummy carrot wedding cake dressed with the couples’ initials. As usual, Paul Milne, owner and executive chef at The Oaks, presented a fabulous dinner – of Eastern Shore Crab Cakes and Petit Filet served with a delicious dijon cream sauce with french beans, Parisian potatoes, and wild mushrooms – yum! DJ David Johnson had everyone dancing and singing along.
My favorite memory of Kate is her genuinely expressive nature. She was one bride who really enjoyed every minute of her wedding day. She was so fun to photograph because she looked beautiful and her face told the tale of any particular moment in her day. Thanks for your honesty, Kate! Nick and the guys had fun, enjoyed their time together and appreciated it when the formal shots were done – haha! I will always remember Nick’s face when he looked at Kate. Pure love and admiration.
