New Bike Routes!

Pro Cycling Team Inaugurates New Bike Routes in Talbot County

Wonderful weather greeted the Kelly Benefit Strategies Pro Cycling Team as they helped open the 6 new biking routes here in Talbot County, MD. The team travels the world competing in races and has many wins to its credit. Kelly CEO John Kelly, who owns a second home in the county, is a true believer in the health benefits of cycling and enthusiastically brought his team to support the routes. Talbot County Office of Tourism director, Debbi Dodson, should be commended for a great 3-day event that featured ribbon cuttings in Easton and St. Michaels, opening routes that began in each locality and the team and other cyclists riding the actual routes which, taken together, cover 180 miles in Talbot and meander through farmland, past historic sites, and even cross the Tred Avon River via the Oxford-Bellevue Ferry! In fact, the group was treated to a local favorite on-board the ferry, the indescribable ice cream made by Victor and Susan Barlow of the Highland Creamery! Local cyclist, real estate salesman and “erstwhile mayor of Talbot County” Jim Campbell worked closely with Debbi to help make the debut of the routes a huge success.
